David A. Keen, MD, MPH
Dr. David Keen left his homeland of Jamaica to attend Howard University in Washington, DC graduating with an MD in 1985. He did his residency in Florida at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center’s Family Practice residency program.
After graduating in 1988 and becoming Board Certified, he joined Leon County’s Lincoln Neighborhood Health Clinic in French Town. Two years later, he became the Medical Director of the Wakulla County Health Department and held this position for 11 years. While serving as the Director of the Health Department, he realized that there was a void in the health care delivery and accessibility in the county as all after hours care and diagnostics services were referred out to Tallahassee. With this in mind, he formed Wakulla Urgent Care & Diagnostic Center (WUC) filling a much needed gap in the community.
One of Dr. Keen’s greatest passions is to pursue medical missions. Since leaving Wakulla Health Department in May 2003, he has done over 70+ mission trips to 5 different countries. He is the Medical Director for his own organization named Caribbean American Medical Educational Organization (CAMEO) where he continues to do 5 medical mission trips each year.
Dr. Keen currently lives in Tallahassee and is married and has 2 wonderful children.
