PRP FACIALS IN CRAWFORDVILLE, FL

PRP Facials

PRP is used in facial rejuvenation. PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma - is a newly discovered old technique that has been used for over 20 years by specialists for faster wound and joint healing.

It is not technically a face lift but it restores the facial skin to a more youthful look and feel. It can help reduce scars from acne and age spots. In some, it will reduce or eliminate the crow’s feet, marinate lines. It is mainly for those who want a more natural look than Botox and fillers. The onset is slower to show, but lasts much longer on the order of about two years.

We also offer PRP services for Hair Restoration and joints; information coming soon.

What is a PRP injection and is it safe?

PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma is a concentrated version of your own blood that is rich with healing and growth factors. Injections are given for “regenerative and healing” or “rejuvenation” purposes and are injected directly to your injured tissue. PRP is an especially safe treatment because it uses your own blood with no risk of an allergic reaction.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure typically takes 30-40 minutes to complete or longer if you are injecting several areas at one time.

What occurs during the procedure?

Your blood is drawn and then put into a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the PRP. The PRP is then transferred into a syringe and injected to your injured area.

Does the procedure hurt?

Yes, there is discomfort when the PRP is injected back into your body as well as after the treatment there will be a temporary increase in pain, swelling and bruising. However, before the process is started you will be given lidocaine to help ease the pain of the process. You will also be instructed to take acetaminophen for pain.

How long does it take to work?

PRP injections for pain typically takes 4-6 weeks to work. Patients given PRP facial injections will not see results until about 3-6 months.

How long does PRP last?

PRP therapy typically last 1 to 2 years.

What are the risks/complications of PRP?

Typical of any injections, there is always minimal risk of infection of the injection site. It is also common to feel an initial worsening of pain symptoms but that improves with time as the injury heals. For those given PRP facial injections, they will notice they look red as if sunburned for 24-36 hours.

Can anyone do PRP?

This procedure is not recommended for anyone with poorly controlled diabetes, on blood thinners, currently immune-compromised, in poor health, pregnant, or on Accutane, or if you currently have cystic acne.
